Ecuador’s coast offers surfing, snorkeling and some of the best cuisine in Ecuador. Spots like the Isla de la Plata even give the so-called “poor man” a taste of Ecuador’s Galapagos Islands without actually needing to get on a plane.

My personal favorite spot…Canoa. This little beach town has great surf, beautiful rocky cliffs and of course fresh seafood. I almost forgot the caipiriñas (“special” beach lemonade)!
The province of Manabi on Ecuador’s coast is said to have the BEST food in the country. And I think they might be right!
