Salinas is one of the most popular tourist destinations on Ecuador’s Pacific Coast. Some have compared it to Miami Beach, with its high-rises right along the beach. At just over 2 hours from Guayaquil, you can enjoy the sandy beaches of Salinas even on short trips to Ecuador.

Why Visit?
There is a large variety of restaurants and tour operators in the area. During the months of June through September you can view humpback whales on their yearly migrations route (see our VIP tour operator below for whale tours). Other activities include water skiing, jet skiing, snorkeling and surfing.
During the low season, Salinas is very quiet. A great time to visit if you don’t enjoy large crowds.
Climate
Salinas has two distinct seasons….sunny and overcast. From November to January enjoy sunny beach weather (this weather coupled with the holidays also brings the crowds). The rest of the year the weather is cooler and typically overcast.
