Baños is one of my personal favorite places for a little vacation. With lots of tasty food options and amazing natural beauty its a great place to relax or play.
Baños de Agua Santa is located halfway between Ambato and Puyo. Don’t confuse it with the little town also called Baños outside of Cuenca.

Why Visit?
Baños is in a valley near the Tungarahua volcano. The volcano heats the waters around Baños making for nice thermal pools. The water is yellow due to the minerals found in the water.
There is lots to do in this small town. Adventure companies offer everything from biking, rafting and paragliding. And the beautiful waterfalls and paths are great for hikers.

Climate
Baños can be warm, even hot during the day when the sun is out. Some days are cloudy, even rainy. Evenings are cool but definitely not as cold as Quito. So be prepared with layers of clothing and maybe pack a small umbrella in your bag in case of a shower.
