From the main walking bridge in Tena walk to the park and continue walking straight ahead up a small hill. You will see the TAME office and a popular photo shop D’Angelos. Continue walking as the road rounds a bend to the right. You will see La Casa del Abuelo straight ahead.

Rafting is one of the most -if not the most- popular tourist attraction in Tena. So while in Tena, make sure to go rafting with the best. Jungle Trips

For those who would rather not go rafting or who would like to see jungle flora up close, River People also offer jungle trips. See waterfalls and canyons in the area on a day trip or on overnight trips.

All trips include certified guides and a safety kayaker. Also all equipment, transport and a buffet lunch (complete with chocolate cake!).

Multi-day trips include all camping gear and two safety kayakers.

Note: Trips may be cancelled due to river conditions. Safety is River People’s priority. In the case of a cancellation, arrangements will be made to raft a different river or to give customers a 90% refund.

The River People office is locate right across the main walking bridge in Tena. It’s on the same block as the Banco del Austro and Farmacias Economicas. Look for the big blue mural as you walk down the hill from the terminal.

Tours

Check out local attractions like the market where you can buy foods from the area and then go back to the hotel for a cooking lesson showing how to prepare your finds.

Hostal Pakay is located just on the otherside of the bypass which goes around Tena. The neighborhood is called 31 de diciembre and you can take a taxi for $1. You can also walk from the area near the terminal….you’ll get a great workout because it’s straight uphill.
